The oldest university in central Europe, Charles University was founded in 1348 by Charles IV, then Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia. Today, Charles University enrols over 47,000 Czech students and over 4,500 international students who study in 17 different faculties. The Faculty of Social Sciences was created in 1990 and its main goal is to develop teaching and research in those aspects of the social sciences, which (directly or indirectly) relate to the public administration, or to the economic and cultural life of society. The Euromasters Programme is taught at Faculty of Social Science by academics from department of European (Integration) Studies and department of Russian and Eastern European Studies.
